Château du Domaine de l’Eglise
The vineyard lies in the shadow of Pomerol’s church tower. It is the oldest estate in the appellation, dating back to 1589. Sold in 1793 as church property, it remained in the same family for a long time before being taken over in 1973 by Émile Castéja. Its vineyards, in the centre of the famous Pomerol plateau, are mainly planted with Merlot. The wines are full-bodied, round and very elegant.
