Château Batailley
Château Batailley is one of the oldest residences in the commune of Pauillac (15th century). The name of this land comes from the battle that took place during the Hundred Years’ War on this plateau up to Château Latour. The house, remodelled in the 18th century, is surrounded by fine farm buildings, vast ageing cellars, bottle cellars and vats, and is surrounded by 6 hectares of parkland. The vineyards are located on the beautiful gravel plateau opposite the Château. This gravelly soil produces superb grapes. Harvested with the utmost care, the wines are vinified in a vat adapted to each parcel, then matured in French casks in the first-year cellars, to perfect their ageing in the second-year cellars and then bottled at the Château. The wine from Château Batailley is dark ruby in colour and well structured, ensuring a long life. The wine of Château Batailley is very well known both in France and throughout the world, and is served on the most illustrious tables.
